Field Application Engineer (FAE)

Pre-sales technical support for power device selection and customer design-in. Work location: Shenzhen.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sales technical support for power devices (IGBT, MOSFET, SiC/GaN) and analog ICs, assisting customers with device selection;
  • Support the sales team with technical presentations, solution reviews and product promotion;
  • Analyse and resolve customer circuit issues (overvoltage breakdown, thermal failure, EMI, etc.);
  • Track customer project progress, gather market and competitor intelligence, and feed it back to R&D and product management;
  • Write application notes and selection guides to support marketing activities.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Power Electronics, Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields;
  • Experience: 2+ years of FAE / technical support experience in the electronic components industry, with familiarity in power devices (IGBT, MOSFET, SiC/GaN), analog ICs or passive components. Hands-on circuit design experience (e.g. switching power supplies, motor drives, inverters) is preferred;
  • Language: Ability to read and write technical documentation in English (CET-4 or above); fluent spoken English is a plus;
  • Technical competence: Familiarity with power device parameters (e.g. Vce(sat), Eon/Eoff, Qrr) and key selection criteria; proficiency in simulation tools (e.g. PSpice, LTspice) or test equipment (oscilloscopes, electronic loads);
  • Problem-solving: Experience in circuit debugging and failure analysis (e.g. overvoltage breakdown, thermal failure);
  • Communication: Ability to simplify complex technical concepts and collaborate effectively with sales, R&D and customers;
  • Preferred: Knowledge of industry standards (e.g. AEC-Q101, JEDEC); experience in renewable energy (PV/energy storage), industrial control or automotive electronics; basic programming skills (Python/C) for data analysis or automated testing.
